For the first time ever since Valorant launched back in mid-2020, Riot Games has added a new contender to its weapon lineup: the Outlaw, which has stirred feverous excitement and speculation within the community. However, it’s not like we didn’t know about the arrival of this new Valorant weapon beforehand. In fact, the rumors began circulating quite some time ago.
The first ever leak we got was in October 2023 when Riot Games accidentally revealed The Outlaw weapon during a skin showcase. This accidental leak not only unveiled the cost of the new Valorant weapon in the game’s buy menu but also showed what weapon type Outlaw belonged to.
And for those unfamiliar with “Valorant”, know that it is a free-to-play first-person shooter game by Riot Games. While it incorporates traditional elements of classic shooter mechanics, what makes it stand out is its use of hero agents which are in-game characters with unique abilities and ultimate powers. If you haven’t tried the game yet but find yourself caught up in the excitement, you can buy a Valorant from Eldorado and get to check out the Outlaw yourself!
Valorant Outlaw Release Date
The Outlaw was made available to play in the game with the commencement of Valorant Episode 8 Act 1 on January 9th, 2024. While this new Act has brought many changes, The Outlaw has remained the highlight.

Outlaw Weapon Type and Stats
The Outlaw is a mid-priced, lethal sniper rifle designed to offer players more strategic options, especially for those who prefer sniping. While we already have 2 snipers in the Valorant weapon meta, there arose a need to bridge the differences between them as per the Riot Developers, Nick Smith and Sal Garozzo:
"We felt that there was a gap in the weapon arsenal between the Marshal and the Operator that could be filled in terms of performance and price, and we wanted more options to support the sniper playstyle. The Outlaw is a mix of elements from the Marshal and the Operator while introducing a few new elements. That's why we wanted to ensure that all sniper rifles have their own strengths and weaknesses."
As such, the Outlaw is a double-barreled semi-automatic sniper rifle that allows players to stay zoomed in on their target even after firing the first bullet. While it can hold two slugs in its double barrel at any given time, Outlaw has a total capacity of 10 bullets in its reserve magazine.
The following are its stats in Valorant:
· Head Damage: 238
· Body Damage: 140
· Legs Damage: 119
· Magazine Size: 2
· Reserve Magazine Size: 10
· Equip Time: 1.25s
· Fire Rate: 2.75
· Running Speed: 80%
As for the weapon cost, Outlaw is priced at 2,400 credits. And on top of that, when compared with the price of Operator, which is the most expensive and most powerful weapon in the game, the price of Outlaw becomes all the more lucrative since the trade-off in stats is very, very less!
As such, the advent of this new Valorant weapon has stirred feverous excitement in the gaming community. This is because, as seen in the weapon stats above, the addition of Outlaw is not merely the introduction of a new Valorant weapon but potentially a pivotal point in altering the entire in-game weapon meta.
However, this does not mean Outlaw is without its cons. Surely, it does have one or two downsides to it that we will soon see in the rest of the article below.
Valorant Weapon Outlaw Skins
While the hype of the new Valorant weapon is real, what really adds a dash of excitement to the Outlaw's introduction are, in fact, the skins that come along with it.
For those who don’t know, weapon skins in Valorant have always played a crucial role in breathing life into the hero shooter game and Outlaw is no exception. With the release of the Outlaw, Riot Developers have also rolled out the “Throwback Pack: Outlaw” bundle that players can buy from the in-game store for just 2,230 VP.
It features an array of skins that are not just visually striking but also add a layer of customization and personal touch to one’s overall Valorant experience. In that, the Throwback Pack bundle includes Ego and Prism skins for the Outlaw, each boasting distinct designs that are sure to stand out on the battlefield!
Cons of The New Valorant Weapon
Where Outlaw’s insanely high damage for the much-balanced price point and that, too, with the continuous zoom capability and rapid firing rate has swayed players to opt for the new Valorant weapon, know that there’s more to it than what meets the eye.
First and foremost, Outlaw has a severely limited magazine size for any Valorant game round. It gets all the worse for players with a poor aim since they will be running out of ammo sooner rather than later. In addition, Outlaw requires one to be extremely careful with their shots since each bullet counts. As such, if you are the type of player that often fires in burst or fire quickly without much thought, you will be better off without Outlaw. Moreover, Outlaw has different firing sounds for its double-barrel shots which can give a potential edge to an opponent player who would know exactly when you are on your first or second bullet and react accordingly. In addition, the almost 4-second reload time makes Outlaw a very hard choice for average Valorant players.
But this does not mean the Outlaw is ineffective. In the right hands, I guess it’s safe to say Outlaw will even overshadow Operator; the most expensive and highly damaging weapon in Valorant. What do you think? Share your thoughts with us and let us know in the comments below!
