Ubisoft has begun teasing the third season of the tenth year of Rainbow Six Siege — and it promises to be a turning point. The focus is on two powerful directions: combating toxic behavior and enhancing competitive depth through the Dual Front mode. But that's not all — a new operator, updated maps, the relaunch of the "Siege Cup," and long-awaited anti-cheat improvements are also on the horizon.

Key Changes in Season 3 Y10S3

Here's what will be coming to Rainbow Six Siege in the coming weeks:

• A new operator — the first since the launch of Siege X. This is a defender from Switzerland who will bring a unique gadget and an entirely new weapon. Developers promise that this is not just a visual novelty but a complete new style of play.
• Dual Front will receive a neutral zone and an updated pool of operators, making the mode even deeper and adding strategic options.
• Updated maps: Nighthaven Labs, Lair, and Consulate will undergo modernization — visual improvements, structural redesigns, and the addition of interactive/destructible elements in the spirit of Chalet and Clubhouse.
• Siege Cup will become a weekly competition. Every weekend, players will be able to participate in high-level matches with increased competition. There will also be the ability to view opposing team rosters in advance — with analysis of their top operators.
• Balancing: Weapons will be redistributed among some operators, specifically, newly introduced guns will be added to other characters. Details will be revealed on August 17.
• The "Esports" tab will be significantly expanded. It will allow tracking tier-1 tournaments, viewing schedules, participants, brackets, results, and, most importantly, the progress of teams on their way to the Six Invitational.
• R6 Shieldguard will receive serious anti-cheat improvements. Ubisoft acknowledged the spike in cheaters and announced the implementation of new countermeasures in the upcoming season.
• Voice chat will be integrated into the reputation system. Players caught in toxic behavior will be automatically muted, and persistent offenders will face restrictions. Those with a high reputation level will be able to contest system errors.
• Anonymity for consoles: Xbox and PlayStation will get a "privacy mode" that automatically replaces a player's nickname with a random pseudonym in matches.

Some Features Postponed to Next Season Y10S4

Not all updates will make it to Y10S3. The following are planned for a later season (in Y10S4):

• Improved penalties for leaving a match — if you are disconnected due to technical reasons, the system will take this into account and try to avoid unfair bans.
• Additional actions for the reputation system — it will start considering more factors, increasing the accuracy of reputation level assignments.

The full announcement of season Y10S3 will take place on Sunday, August 17 at 19:00 CEST. That's when the operator will be revealed, new maps will be showcased, and all changes, including balance and anti-cheat, will be detailed.
