During the Six Invitational 2025 Grand Final, Ubisoft officially announced Siege X, a major evolution of Rainbow Six Siege. This is not a continuation or a relaunch of the game, but a fundamental transformation with improved graphics, sound, and updated gameplay. The full announcement of Siege X will take place on March 13 during a special three-hour broadcast.

What is Siege X?

Ubisoft is positioning Siege X as the biggest update in the game's history, which will change its fundamental mechanics while maintaining the tactical spirit. As the lead designer of the project, Joshua Mills, stated:

"This is not just another update, but a major evolution. We are expanding and strengthening the very foundations of Siege to ensure that the game remains the benchmark for tactical PvP shooters."

Players can expect significant improvements to the graphics, audio, and overall feel of the game, as well as new modes and interaction options.

New Y10S1 season and Rauora operator

Along with the announcement of Siege X, the first season of the tenth year, Operation Prep Phase, has started. Its main innovation is the new attacker Rauora, who comes from New Zealand. It is equipped with a unique gadget called D.O.M. Panel, which allows you to install bulletproof panels in doorways and open them with a remote mechanism.

• Main weapons: MK17, M249 LMG.
• Additional weapons: GSH-18, Reaper MK2
• Gadgets: smoke grenade, piercing charge

Changes to the reputation system

Ubisoft has introduced a new system of punishments and rewards for players depending on their behavior. Reputation will affect access to ranked matches, rewards, and even the speed of experience:

• Dishonest players will lose access to certain modes and receive less XP.
• Exemplary players will receive bonuses, including exclusive profile cards.

Other important updates

• Removal of DX11 - the game is switching entirely to DX12 for improved performance.
• Optimization of player selection - the new Dynamic Matchmaking system will reduce the waiting time for matches.
• Reducing the cost of operatives - Azami, Brava, and Deimos will become more affordable.
• New maps - Air Force One, Yacht, Favela, and the updated Hereford Base have been added to the rotation.
