CAG Osaka withdraws from Asia Pacific League 2025 – Stage 1: APAC North following BlackRay incident

Japanese team CAG Osaka has officially withdrawn from the Asia Pacific League 2025 – Stage 1: APAC North playoffs after reports surfaced regarding the arrest of player Sho "BlackRay" Hasegawa.

CAG Osaka had qualified for the playoffs and was set to face PSG Talon in the lower bracket. However, due to the serious allegations against BlackRay, who was reportedly accused of kidnapping, the organization made the decision to withdraw from the tournament. As a result, they finish in 6th place by default, and PSG Talon advanced via forfeit win. More details on the BlackRay case are available in our material.

As a reminder, the Asia Pacific League 2025 – Stage 1: APAC North runs from June 15 to July 27, featuring eight teams competing for a spot at EWC 2025 and a share of the €50,000 prize pool.
