Natus Vincere will meet FlyQuest in the bottom of the group stage of IEM Melbourne 2025 in an elimination match. The loser will immediately leave the tournament, and the winner will play in the bottom bracket final for a place in the playoffs. The format is Bo3, and both teams now have good reasons to fight to the last: for NAVI, it's a chance to come back after a series of failures, and for FlyQuest, it's a chance to prove that their breakthrough in the regional qualifiers was not accidental. The teams have not met each other in the last six months.
Current form of the teams
NAVI show unstable results at major tournaments - only 2 wins in the last 5 matches. The team lost to Spirit, Eternal Fire, and Falcons, defeating only MIBR and The MongolZ. The team needs to better realize their individual potential within the team game.
Date | Team | Score | Opponent |
Apr 22 | NAVI | 1 - 2 | Falcons |
Apr 21 | NAVI | 2 - 1 | MIBR |
Mar 28 | NAVI | 0 - 2 | Spirit |
Mar 24 | NAVI | 0 - 2 | Eternal Fire |
Mar 22 | NAVI | 2 - 1 | The MongolZ |
FlyQuest, after triumphing in the Oceanic & SEA qualification, finally began to show their worth on the international stage. The team managed to confidently pass SemperFi and Rooster, and recently defeated Virtus.pro. Despite the loss to Vitality, FlyQuest looks much better than at the beginning of the year.
Date | Team | Score | Opponent |
Apr 22 | FlyQuest | 2 - 0 | Virtus.pro |
Apr 21 | FlyQuest | 0 - 2 | Vitality |
Apr 17 | FlyQuest | 2 - 0 | SemperFi |
Apr 16 | FlyQuest | 2 - 0 | SemperFi |
Apr 15 | FlyQuest | 2 - 0 | Rooster |
Mappool
NAVI has a strong mapped deck with relative versatility. They play confidently on Train (100% winrate but 1 match), Mirage (65%), Nuke (63%), and Inferno (58%). Their worst map is Dust II (30%), which they usually banish first.
FlyQuest look good on Mirage (100% but 2 maps) and Anubis (60%), but have instability on Nuke (33%) and Train (50%). The team often bans Ancient or Dust II and Mirage.
Map | NAVI WR | M | B | Last 5 Maps (NAVI) | FlyQuest WR | M | B | Last 5 Maps (FlyQuest) |
Train | 100% | 1 | 13 | W | 50% | 2 | 5 | L, W |
Mirage | 65% | 20 | 0 | W, L, W, W, W | 100% | 2 | 16 | W, W |
Nuke | 63% | 8 | 8 | W, L, W, L | 33% | 9 | 8 | L, L, L |
Anubis | 33% | 3 | 13 | W, L, L | 60% | 10 | 3 | L, W, W, L, L |
Inferno | 58% | 12 | 5 | L, L, L, W | 44% | 16 | 3 | L, L, W, W, W |
Dust II | 30% | 10 | 1 | L, L, W, L, L | 43% | 7 | 9 | L, W, L, W |
Ancient | 55% | 11 | 6 | W, W, L | 50% | 8 | 6 | L, L, W, W |
Prediction.
Although NAVI has historically looked more solid, FlyQuest's form is now more convincing. They show an aggressive and structured game, while NAVI often fail tactically. Muppet promises to be interesting - NAVI will probably choose Nuke or Mirage, while FlyQuest will be able to impose Anubis or Inferno. Everything points to a full-fledged three-map series, but NAVI's experience will give them an advantage.
Predicted score: 2-1 in favor of NAVI
