Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis has officially been benched in Team Liquid, ending his 801-day tenure with the organization. This change signifies shifts within the team lineup despite a relatively good second half of the season.
Joining Liquid
YEKINDAR joined Liquid in mid-2022 and quickly established himself as an aggressive player and potential in-game leader. However, despite some successful moments, including reaching the latter stages of tournaments, the team failed to achieve consistency, resulting in several roster changes.
YEKINDAR's Performance
When he was signed to the team, his rating was 6.4, whereas the following year in 2023, it was 6.1. This wasn't given much weight as he was able to help the team reach a new level. However, after transitioning to CS2, he has been performing poorly, and for 2024, his rating is 5.9, and over the past three months, it has dropped to 5.7.

YEKINDAR's Comment
YEKINDAR himself commented on the situation via social media, expressing gratitude for his time at Liquid.
As of today, I am officially benched and open to offers. These two and a half years went by very fast, and I can confidently say that I had the opportunity to play in the best esports organization. I am incredibly grateful to all my teammates, staff, and fans
Previously, YEKINDAR was considered one of the most promising players, showcasing excellent results and the ability to lead the team. However, the transition to CS2 has been a real challenge, and his current form leaves much to be desired. Despite this, he has every chance to redeem himself and return to his previous level. According to Leniniw, YEKINDAR could perfectly fit into the roster of Monte, which would be an interesting continuation of his career.
