First, yXo began asking Woro2k about his childhood and when Woro2k got introduced to CS:
It was probably in the 5th or 6th grade when I got acquainted with CS 1.6 and played on public servers. And I noticed that there were tournaments there. I played on a Ukrainian public server where 20 people played, and we got to know everyone there. After that, we had a team called Monastyrishche, and we played different tournaments with them. We even won one of them, and our prize was a certificate on the wall in VK.
Then yXo moved on to Woro2k's university days.
Initially, I wanted to apply to the Kharkiv University, which had a faculty of esports. At that time, it was the only one in Ukraine where esports was taught. I sent my documents there, but they didn't accept me. I'm not sure why exactly. In the end, I enrolled in an agricultural faculty in Uman because it was the closest, affordable, and my parents also work in this field. But I didn't really care where I would go. It was more of my parents' initiative. They said that sooner or later it would come in handy.
yXo asked if Vladimir left the university when his professional esports career started. Woro2k gave the following answer:
No, I didn't leave or take an academic leave or anything like that. I continued studying all the time, and now I'm in my 5th year of graduate school.
yXo: "As far as I know, a player from a top team can earn $500,000 - $600,000 from stickers if you're, let's say, in NAVI. Is that a realistic amount?"
That's a realistic amount when you win a Major. The sums are very large, and it all depends on the popularity of your capsule. We get a small percentage from sales, around 2-2.5%. If you buy a capsule for 100 hryvnias, we get 2.5 hryvnias. But money also comes from passes and souvenir cases; capsules are not the most significant source.
At BLAST Paris, Monte has already earned over $200,000.
Towards the end, Woro2k talked about his attitude towards Russians and why Russians are so tolerated in esports:
On February 24th, for me personally, Russians ceased to exist as if with a snap of the fingers. It's very sad that esports doesn't have an organization like FIFA in football. I would really like to see CS and the internet closed for people from Russia. And for them to start thinking and worrying more. If I were in charge of esports, I would completely block their access to the game. No one would play, and everything would be clear. If we can't make them disappear, we need to defeat them in every tournament.
It should be noted that Woro2k is a co-founder of the Monte organization and has been playing under that tag for over a year. The full interview can be viewed at this link.
