In 2023, women's esports strengthened its position, gathering more viewers and exceeding a total prize pool of 2 million dollars. Games like Valorant and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang topped the popularity rankings among women's tournaments.
Last year's women's esports competitions attracted 28 million hours of viewership, which is 15% more than the previous year, with a peak audience of 1.37 million. The shooter Valorant became the most popular discipline, gathering 16.3 million hours of viewership, which is 48% more than the previous year.
Tournaments in women's esports played out more than 2.2 million dollars in 2023, with half of this amount distributed in Valorant competitions. Counter-Strike and Fortnite also received significant portions of the prize pool. South America, led by Brazil, became the leader in prizes, playing out 35.6% of the total amount, while North America and Europe distributed 26.8% and 25% respectively. Tournaments in Asia accounted for 9% of the total fund.
The most common language of broadcasts in women's esports in 2023 was English, gathering 8.2 million hours of viewership or 29% of the total viewing time for the year.
