Wildcard Gaming made an unexpected decision during the Ace North American Masters Spring 2024: Open Qualifier #1, by adding Owen "oBo" Schlatter to their roster. This move was prompted by the negative impact of weather conditions on the energy resources of Gage "Infinite" Green.

As a result, Wildcard turned to oBo for services, in case Infinite is unable to play. For oBo, this qualifier could be his second in recent weeks, following his participation in the first open qualifier for the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: American RMR on January 8. Despite this being his first official tournament in CS2, oBo showed good performance, reaching the top-32 with the team gamin4fun.

After the first day of the competition, Wildcard did not use oBo's services. The team made it to the semifinals of the tournament, where they will play against Spectre. The winner of this match will advance to the Ace North American Masters Spring 2024, the closed qualifiers for the BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2024.
