VP, TL to second round at BLAST Premier Fall Showdown

The third day of the event.

With five teams already advancing to the second round, it was time for two more matches at BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, the last big event before the beginning of PGL Major Stockholm 2021.

Two squads, which are going to play in the tournament in Sweden, Virtus.pro and Movistar Riders started their series on Vertigo. Back and forth from start to finish, the CIS squad managed to hold off against the Spanish team, as VP started with a “16-14” win. Moving to Mirage, it was more convincing for Virtus.pro, as they posted a “10-5” score on their offence and then closed the series on the defence, “16-8”, “2-0”. Team Liquid, shortly after losing the championship at IEM Fall North America, faced off against 9z Team and did not have any issue against a South American unit. “16-3” on Nuke and “16-6” on Inferno - more than enough to win a series and prepare for the match against VP in the second round.

With only Evil Geniuses and MAD Lions left to play in the opening round of BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2021, nine contenders for two spots at BLAST Premier Fall Finals 2021 remain.
