Vorborg: "I take 100% responsibility for EG's failure"

In a recent interview, former Evil Geniuses coach Daniel "Vorborg" Vorborg stated that he takes full responsibility for the team's failure.

Vorborg:

"I take 100% responsibility for not being able to establish ourselves among the top 20-30 teams, for this failure or something of this sort. Meanwhile, we had players who could achieve this result.

The Danish coach joined the team back in August last year. However, speaking about the coach's achievements, the team's last victory was at a tournament called ESEA Cash Cup: North America - Autumn 2022 #6. And it happened in November 2022.

Remember that yesterday, the Evil Geniuses organization disbanded their main CS:GO squad. After the dissolution of their initial roster, which consisted of the following players:

  • Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte
  • Sanjar "neaLaN" Iskhakov
  • Jerrick "wiz" Zian
  • Ismail "refrezh" Ali
  • Daniel "Vorborg" Vorborg (coach)

The last time Evil Geniuses took first place at a major tournament was back in 2020 at ESL One: Cologne 2020 Online - North America. Besides, they also won at BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 American Finals.

However, the team's recent performances have been a real nightmare. The statistics speak for themselves:

Such poor results can be traced back even before 2020 when the team was still in the top ranks. Everything might change with a new roster, but analysts do not believe in such changes. They think that the team urgently needs to acquire players who are currently available on the market during this transfer window.
