Valve has promised to remove all VAC bans that were issued erroneously

Today, Valve Corporation, which develops Counter-Strike 2, reported that they identified a problem with the VAC anti-cheat system, which erroneously banned a large number of innocent players. They announced this on their official Twitter account.

On December 5, 2023, many players received VAC bans even though they had never played with third-party applications. For instance, the player Bymas from the team Into The Breach was caught in this wave.

Valve:

Yesterday's update erroneously triggered bans in the game. We have fixed the issue, and the process of reversing the bans has already begun.

Throughout December 5th, VAC has been banning players without reason. Many have lost inventories worth tens of thousands of dollars. Apparently, with the new update, Valve slightly broke VAC, and now it is banning random players without any cause. Over two thousand accounts have already been affected by the wave of bans.

But, in reality, this is a very good sign. It shows that the developers are paying attention to the problem of cheaters in Counter-Strike 2 and are currently testing a new anti-cheat system. This system is intended to eradicate this problem.
