Over the last month of autumn 2023, developers at Valve released a large number of updates for Counter-Strike 2. However, despite this, they suffered a $50 million loss after the official release.
Since the release of CS2, the game has already lost more than 30% of its active players. Currently, only an average of 792,125 players log into the game each day, which has also led to a decrease in the number of opened cases.
Now let's take a closer look at where Valve lost $50 million. It's quite simple – about 45.1 million cases were opened in October, but only 24.8 million in November. It's simple math.
The truth is – Valve simply can't keep players engaged in the game, leading them to stop playing.
The developers have not yet been able to replace all the content from CS:GO and they simply don't have the time to create anything new right now. It seems they rushed the release and are now trying to catch up with a train that has long since departed.
Moreover, when Valve releases a major update, they need to immediately change it in the next one, as there are always some errors.
