In the nightly update on December 6, Valve significantly changed the rules for content creation in the Counter-Strike 2 Workshop. The most important innovation is the introduction of optional Supplemental Terms, which allow the CS2 team to purchase workshop items for a fixed fee.
Upon agreeing to these terms, all items from the author's account can be used in game sections where community content was previously unavailable, such as The Armory. This opens up the possibility for broader integration of creators' works into future updates and collections.
Fixed Payments for Authors
Valve has set clear amounts that authors will receive if their content is purchased:
- Weapon finish (skins) — $35,000
- Sticker — $6,000
- Charm — $6,000
These rates apply to any items created on an account that has agreed to the new terms.

Call to Arms: Valve Seeks New Works on Specific Themes
Along with the update to the Workshop tools, a new initiative called Call to Arms-ory has been launched to enhance future CS2 collections.

Valve Accepts:
Skins on Themes:
- Arabesque and Arabian Mythology
- Spy/Tech
Stickers on Themes:
- Auto Racing
- Fruits and Vegetables
Submissions are now made through the updated Counter-Strike 2 Workshop Tool, which includes new mandatory tags. Authors who already have relevant works in the Steam Workshop must resubmit them with the new categories.
New Tools for Creators
In addition to policy changes, Valve has added several technical innovations:
- Dr. Boom charm model — an official base charm model that can be recolored and submitted for future community collections.
- New Paint Kit type — Custom Paint Job Extended, which supports iridescence and other visual effects previously unavailable to authors.
Valve emphasizes that they are looking forward to new works and encourages the community to actively participate in shaping the future cosmetic content of CS2.
