Valve fixed a bug in CS2 voting that could leak players' personal data

The developers of Counter-Strike 2 released a minor update that fixed a previously discovered vulnerability in the game. Dataminer Aquarius shared this information on his Twitter.

The bug allowed hackers to access the personal data of match participants. Initially, it was discovered that any images could be inserted in the voting window by embedding a link to them in the form of HTML code in the Steam nickname field. Later, it became known that this error also opened a vulnerability in the system for protecting players' personal data. You can read more about this in the article.

Previously, dataminer ThourCS conducted a comparison of CS2 performance on computers with Windows 10 and 11 operating systems. It turned out that when running on the newer OS, the game produces more frames per second (FPS). You can read the study via the link.
