Reddit user Chups213 shared his story about how he and his friend encountered cheaters in three consecutive games in CS2. In the first game, the opposing team was completely full of cheaters, with five players having cheats, and their team had two cheaters. Despite this, they managed to win. In the second game, both teams had cheaters, and they lost, but they enjoyed trolling their cheating teammates. In the third game, the opposing team had a player with a wallhack and a silent aim, and suddenly their teammate started using cheats as well. However, they still managed to win the game.
The user also mentioned that his main account was banned by VAC by mistake, even though he never used cheats. The only thing he did that might have looked suspicious was to increase DPI and spin to look like a spin bot.
This post sparked an active discussion among other users:
- Chups213: "I was rank 15 on my main account, but since I played on a new account, I don't have Prime. Are there more chances of encountering cheaters if I don't have Prime?"
- Leemma: "I played for a few weeks on Prime with 20k+ and didn't see a single cheater that I could definitely call a cheater. Maybe I was just lucky."
- AEl1002R: "I like how you talk about the number of cheaters that are on Prime MM without Prime. LOL"
- lunar_ephermen: “VAC doesn't work. I bought Prime and cheaters started getting caught in every game, whereas in non-Prime I've seen them once in every 5 matches. Valve created this damn pay2lose."
- oOverride: "Well, yes, VAC is really bad. But you played on a new account. Usually, new accounts are cheaters or toxic people, so they are put in matches with similar accounts. I would recommend playing on FACEIT. Even if the servers are theoretically the same, FACEIT has its own anti-cheat and makes it much harder to cheat and avoid bans."
This situation shows that the problem of cheating in CS2 remains relevant, and many players are looking for alternative solutions, such as switching to other platforms to play.
