VAC anti-cheat is causing freezes in CS2

Today, a data miner known as Poggu reported on their Twitter that the freezes in CS2 are related to the VAC anti-cheat system working.

Poggu:

At the moment, the CS2 beta is experiencing noticeable interruptions every half a second, which disappear when the game is launched with the -insecure parameter. You can try it yourself and see if the game works more smoothly (obviously, you won't be able to play in matchmaking). Thanks to the people from SteamDB (Max, H7per) for this.

In simple terms

If you start CS2 with the -insecure parameter, you will be able to see that the frame rate chart becomes smoother.

Of course, without VAC you won't be able to start MM and can only hope that Valve will fix this issue soon.

It seems like all that VAC does nowadays is reduce FPS. Given that there is a player with cheats in almost every match.

Well, it won't be a spinbot, but many have plain wallhacks or legit aim. And by the way, players who have currently gained over 30,000 ratings in the community are considered to be 80% cheaters, as they receive many complaints in their regions.
