UNPAID and Nemiga became the last teams to reach the playoffs at the RES Regional Champions 2024, joining Sangal and fnatic in the semifinals after victories over PARIVISION and Fluxo. Further games will take place on Saturday, when both semifinals and the grand final will be held.
UNPAID reached the semifinals
In the second match, UNPAID secured a place in the semifinals after defeating PARIVISION with a score of 2-0. The team, led by kassad, first won on Mirage with a score of 16-14, and then confidently won on Anubis with a score of 13-10.
This playoff entry is especially important for UNPAID, who recently broke ties with BLEED due to financial issues, including salary delays and bootcamp expenses. Nevertheless, the team will now face Sangal in the semifinals.
For PARIVISION, this is another early elimination from a LAN tournament. After a poor showing at the Skyesports Championship 2024, they will need to reassess their plans before participating in the RMR Perfect World Shanghai Major.
New controversy from kassad?
After the victory over PARIVISION, kassad decided not to fist bump the opposing team, which quickly went viral online. Kassad promptly commented, explaining the reason:
I won't shake hands with these guys because they made it to the RMR dishonestly
The community's reaction was mixed, with most responding negatively to his actions. If the team was allowed to participate in the tournament after investigations, then their involvement...

Nemiga reached the semifinals
Earlier that day, Nemiga claimed victory over Fluxo in a hard-fought battle that spanned three maps. Zweih played a crucial role in Nemiga's win on Mirage, but Fluxo managed to bounce back on Ancient, winning 13-10. However, the Brazilians lost in overtime on Inferno and ended their tournament run.
This match was also notable as it was arT's first LAN tournament after leaving FURIA, but his debut ended in disappointment as Fluxo failed to reach the playoffs.
