Thunderpick is set to ignite the Counter-Strike 2 esports scene once again with the Thunderpick World Championship 2024, following the massive success of its 2023 World Finals. Last year's online tournament saw FaZe Clan emerge victorious in November, solidifying their dominance in the early CS2 competitive landscape with additional LAN victories at IEM Sydney and CS2 Asia Championships 2023 .

This year's championship boasts a grand prize pool of $1 million and introduces an expansive tournament structure starting with six regional qualifiers. These qualifiers are set to begin on April 1, leading up to the final showdown on LAN slated for October 23-24. In a bid to embrace a broader competitive community, this edition expands its reach to include South America alongside Europe and North America.
Qualifier dates and regions are as follows:
- Europe Qualifier 1: April 1-22
- Europe Qualifier 2: August 19-31
- North America Qualifier 1: May 19-24
- North America Qualifier 2: June 4-9
- South America Qualifier 1: May 11-16
- South America Qualifier 2: July 17-22
- World Finals (Round of 16): October 1-4
- World Finals (Round of 8): October 19-20
- World Finals (LAN): October 23-24
The European qualifiers will invite 32 teams for two single-elimination brackets, while the North and South American regions will see eight teams each compete in their respective qualifiers. From each qualifier, one team will advance to the World Finals.
With $25,000 at stake for each qualifier event and a whopping $850,000 reserved for the World Finals, the competition promises not only high stakes but also an opportunity for teams to etch their names in the annals of CS2 esports. The prize distribution for the World Finals is designed to reward the top performers generously, with the champion team taking home $450,000.
