Content creator ThourCS2 has compared the performance of Counter-Strike 2 game on his computer running two operating systems - Windows 10 and Windows 11. He reported about it in his social networks, sharing the results and details of the test.
For the test, ThourCS2 used a special map from Steam Workshop called “FPS Benchmark Map”. He noted that the test was conducted with identical video and NVIDIA settings, as well as the same startup parameters (-threads 7). Game mode was enabled and hardware-accelerated GPU scheduler (HAGS) was disabled.
The configuration of his PC was as follows:
- Processor: Intel i5-12400F
- Graphics card: GTX 1660 Ti
- RAM: 16GB DDR4
Average FPS figures:
- Average FPS on Windows 11: 300.4
- Average FPS on Windows 10: 350 (16.51% higher)
Lowest FPS performance:
- Lowest FPS on Windows 11: 116
- Lowest FPS on Windows 10: 142.1 (22.5% higher)

ThourCS2 noted that despite using the same hardware and the same settings, the results vary significantly from operating system to operating system. Based on the results, Windows 10 clearly proved to be the best OS to play CS2 after making some optimization tweaks.
He also added that the results may vary depending on the configuration of a particular system.
