These five CS2 teams turned the biggest disappointments in PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 OQ

The open qualifiers for the RMR to PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 in CS2 have concluded in Europe and America. In this article, Bo3.gg will talk about five teams that were expected to make it through to the closed qualifiers but failed to do so.

O Plano

The new lineup of O Plano, assembled just before the start of the open RMR qualifiers, caused a lot of buzz on social media. Stars of the Brazilian CS scene decided to shake the old days and try their luck in the qualifiers. Fans jokingly called the roster “Last Dance 2”.

In the first qualifier, the team under the leadership of Epitacio TACO de Melo managed to reach the 1/8 finals, where they lost to the mix of Dusty Roots. In the second qualifiers, the veterans completely fell apart, getting knocked out in the 1/64 finals. In South America, open qualifiers are mostly dominated by mixes, so O Plano was expected at least to make it to the closed qualifiers. Betting on experience did not pay off.

Sprout

A strong team that constantly plays online tournaments and qualifiers seemed to have no problems overcoming this stage, but fate had other plans. In the first two qualifiers, the team was knocked out in the early rounds. In the third, they reached the 1/16 finals, where they lost to the French mix LOADING. In the final qualifier, Sprout was stopped by cheaters, who were of course banned, but no replays were conducted.

00Nation

00Nation abandoned its Brazilian lineup and formed a strong European roster. Before the start of the qualifiers, the team was considered one of the main contenders to advance to the closed qualifiers, but something went wrong. The squad of Thomas birdfromsky Due-Frederiksen proved unable to overcome any of the open qualifiers and will miss the first major in the history of CS2.

TSM

Looking at the actions of TSM management after returning to the discipline, it's hard not to feel sympathy. At first, it looked promising, as the club signed a coach and left the formation of the roster in his hands. Towards the end of the process, the coach left, and the team's results were frankly not very good.

The further logic of action is completely absent. Just before the qualifiers, Joel joel Holmlund, who was recently unbanned and allowed back into the competitive scene, became the team's fifth player. Despite all the chaos surrounding the team, they were supposed to advance to the closed qualifiers based on experience and individual skills. However, something went wrong. The next day after the qualifiers, the main roster was left by Audric JACKZ Jug. The management is still working on forming synergy within the team.

BLEED Esports

Despite the fact that the BLEED Esports roster for CS2 was assembled in a very tight timeframe, it is considered the main disappointment of the open RMR qualifiers to PGL Major Copenhagen 2024. Most likely, Hampus hampus Poser and his team simply didn't have enough time to unite and develop even basic tactics.

On paper, the lineup looks very interesting, which gave hope for a successful passage to the closed qualifiers. The future of the team is in the hands of management, and if it's not like TSM's, then everything will be fine for them. Or did the lineup not live up to expectations and needs to be changed?
