Captain and Coach Leave MIBR
Captain and Coach Leave MIBR

MIBR is making changes to its CS2 roster, as revealed through the organization's social media. The team captain, André "drop" Abreu, is no longer part of the main lineup and is moving to the bench. Breno "brnz4n" Poletto will take his place, returning to the starting lineup.

This reshuffling is a significant event for MIBR, as drop was not just a player but the team's captain. However, his own words about moving to the bench suggest that the decision was voluntary:

I asked to be benched for some time at MIBR. Everything wasn't going as I wanted, and I wasn't feeling good in or out of the game, so it's time to reset, spend a few days addressing my issues, and come back better :)

Roster Change History

drop joined MIBR in June 2023 and became the team's captain in August 2024. Under his leadership, MIBR achieved several successes, including winning the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2024 and reaching the semifinals of the ESL Pro League Season 20. However, at the beginning of 2025, the team faced significant challenges, being eliminated in the early stages of several major tournaments: IEM Katowice Play-in, PGL Cluj-Napoca group stage, and the BLAST Bounty Spring Closed Qualifier (first game).

brnz4n, now returning to the main lineup, previously lost his spot in September 2024, giving way to Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves. Now he has a chance to prove himself again.

Coaching Changes in MIBR

Changes have occurred not only among players but also in the coaching staff. Bruno "BIT" Lima has left his position as head coach, replaced by Jonathan "jnt" Silva. Before this, jnt worked with FURIA's women's team, winning the Gamers Club Liga Feminina and Rainhas do Clutch, and had a brief coaching stint with LOS at the beginning of 2024.

jnt is already familiar with some MIBR players – he played alongside Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves and Rafael "exit" Lacerda at Sharks, and worked with Renato "nak" Nakano, who is part of MIBR's coaching staff.

Details of the Changes and MIBR's Schedule

The updated MIBR roster:

The next challenge for the new roster will be the ESL Pro League Season 21, starting on March 1. Following that, MIBR will head to Australia for the IEM Melbourne, which will take place from April 21 to 27. jnt's debut as MIBR's coach will already occur at the ESL Pro League from March 1 to 5.

drop's decision to take a break and coach BIT's departure indicate internal issues within the team but also provide an opportunity for a reset. brnz4n gets a chance to redeem himself, and the new coach jnt has the opportunity to elevate the team to a new level.
