Team Shush did not receive prize money for Skyesports Souvenir 2023

Following the scandal of players not being paid prize money for the Skyesports Masters 2023 tournament, it has been revealed that Team Shush has yet to receive prize money for their participation in Skyesports Souvenir 2023. The tournament was held in September 2023 in an online format and the Gods Reign team representing India defeated Shush representing the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the grand finals. According to the results of the competition, Gods Reign won the prize money of $2500 while Shush was to receive $1000 for the second place.

A player on the Shush team told Dust2 India that Skyesports contacted him on July 9, 2024 to discuss a possible prize money deal. However, despite this, as of the morning of July 10, 2024, Team Shush has not received their money. This is a major concern given the recent problems with payouts in other tournaments organized by Skyesports. Skyesports will also be hosting a $300,000 tournament July 23-29 and one wonders if there will be any problems with payouts.

At the same time, a Gods Reign player who wished to remain anonymous told Dust2 India that their organization has received the prize money and players expect to receive their share soon. This creates an inequality with participating teams and raises questions about the transparency and professionalism of Skyesports.

At the time of publication, Skyesports has not provided an official statement on the matter. The organization is expected to take steps to address the situation and restore trust ahead of a major tournament.
