In a tightly contested three-map battle, Liquid showcased their skills to defeat Astralis 2-1 in the semifinals of the CCT Global Finals 2024. This victory not only opened the door for the American team to the tournament finals, but also provided them with a chance to compete for the $250,000 top prize.
The first Inferno map ended in favor of Liquid with a score of 19-17, where the team showed a strong game on the terrorist side. However, on the second Nuke map, the initiative went to Astralis, who dominated the game, ending with a convincing 13-10 score in their favor. The last and decisive round took place on the Dust II map, where Liquid proved to be invincible, winning with a score of 13-3.
Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, who was named MVP of the match, was a key figure in his team's victory, demonstrating extraordinary shooting skills and tactical thinking. In general, Team Liquid impressed with their composure and ability to control the game from the very beginning, leaving Astralis no chance to recover.
Astralis, on the other hand, continue to struggle with new challenges after recent roster changes. The addition of br0 to the team did not bring the expected result, as the Danish team failed to rise above the third/fourth place in recent competitions, including IEM Chengdu, EPL 19, and this CCT Global Finals.
In the second semifinal match, Eternal Fire and GamerLegion will meet to determine the second finalist of the tournament. The winner of this match will compete against Team Liquid for the top prize of $250,000 and the title of CCT Global Finals 2024 champion.
These competitions have become not only a place to showcase the skills of the world's best teams, but also an important arena for analyzing strategies and adaptations in the rapidly changing world of esports. The CCT Global Finals 2024 tournament continues to attract the attention of fans around the world, cementing its place as one of the key events in the CS2 world.
