SZPERO becomes Rebels coach

On Monday, the Spanish organization Rebels announced that Grzegorz "SZPERO" Dziamalek has been appointed as the new head coach of their Counter-Strike 2 team. This marks SZPERO's first coaching role, coming just days after he announced the end of his playing career.

The 32-year-old coach has extensive experience playing for Polish teams such as Kinguin9INE, and AGO. In his retirement announcement, he mentioned transitioning to a different role in the esports industry.

SZPERO joined a team that was signed just two weeks ago by the Rebels Gaming organization, founded by former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea. The Polish team secured a spot at the IEM Katowice 2024 Play-In after defeating 9INE in the grand final of the Polish Autumn Championship.

The squad already played with SZPERO at the ESL Pro League Season 19: European Conference but finished last in their group, exiting the tournament with only one win in five matches. Rebels' first opponent at IEM Katowice will be Cloud9.
