Famous map maker Lillykyu has presented another unique mode for Counter-Strike 2 - Subway Smurfers, inspired by the mobile game Subway Surfers. The novelty adds elements of arcade running, coin collecting, and even a reward system to CS2.
What is Subway Smurfers?
This is a map-runner where players have to avoid obstacles on the railroad tracks, moving in the style of Subway Surfers. A distinctive feature is the ability to collect coins, which can be used to open loot boxes with custom knives. This adds an element of excitement that is rarely found in CS2 custom maps.
At the time of release, the map is already available on Steam Workshop and anyone can download it for free.
Previous projects by Lillykyu
This is not the first time Lillykyu has ported popular mobile games to CS2. It has already created such custom modes as:
- Fruit Ninja, a game where players cut fruit with knives.
- Jetpack Joyride is an adaptation of the jetpack runner of the same name.
Her works have become popular due to the high quality of execution and originality, as well as the ability to adapt mobile hits to CS2 mechanics.

Community reaction
Players quickly reacted to the release of the new map. Numerous videos of users testing Subway Smurfers have already appeared on social media. Many note that such fan modes add more variety to the game, especially in the moments between official updates.
Some users compare Subway Smurfers to the classic custom maps that existed back in CS 1.6 and CS:GO, noting that such maps contribute to the development of the game's creative community.
What's next?
Lillykyu has not yet announced what project it will work on next, but its fans are hoping for new experimental maps that combine CS2 with popular games or non-standard mechanics.
Players can try out Subway Smurfers right now by downloading it on Steam Workshop.
