Timo "Spiidi" Richter, a well-known player in the Counter-Strike world, announced the end of his professional career after ten years of performing at major tournaments and arenas around the world. The 28-year-old Richter spent a significant part of his career in leading German teams PENTA and MOUZ from 2014 to 2017.
Spiidi is remembered for reaching the quarterfinals in two majors with PENTA at DreamHack Winter 2014 and ESL One Katowice 2015, as well as achieving the semifinals in ESL Pro League Season 4 Finals and ELEAGUE Season 1 with MOUZ.
In 2018, Richter moved to Sprout, and later to ALTERNATE ATTaX, but was unable to return to top-level tournaments, although he won the ESL Meisterschaft with ALTERNATE ATTaX. Over his long career, the German won $201,673 in prize money.
Spiidi remains a player who is among the top in the number of maps played on the professional scene. Thoughts of retiring emerged for him back in April, shortly after joining ATTaX in January. In his farewell letter, he noted that he lost his fire as a player. He no longer enjoys official matches as before and no longer likes to put in the effort aimed at reaching the top.
