The captain of the Ninjas in Pyjamas team, Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer, shared his thoughts on the team's challenging journey through the open qualifiers for PGL Astana 2025. He discussed the rebuilding of team spirit, the importance of each player's role, and their goals for the tournament.
Snappi noted that the path to PGL Astana 2025 was a real challenge for him and the team.
If you can't play tournaments, then you can't really get points, right. And that's the situation we've been in—we have been needing to go through open qualifiers and play open LAN events. Now we are here, and we have a chance to speed up the process if we do a good result here.Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer
When asked about the team's internal dynamics, he emphasized the importance of each player's role.
It's just a hungry team. People are here to give everything. At the start, some of the roles didn't fit 100%, but we've been trying to kind of fix the puzzle. I think now we have people in the roles that we need.Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer
Snappi also highlighted the contribution of Rasmus "sjuush" Beck as a secondary leader:
Maybe off the server, it’s true that sjuush is probably the kind of secondary leader because of his experience. But I would say in the server, it’s split obviously by maps, but also I would say all four contribute in different ways.Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer
Despite a tough seeding in the tournament, the team remains optimistic.
We will take it one game at a time also because we know the first couple of games will maybe be a bit tougher due to our seed. However, I do think that playoffs should be a goal that we have in the back of our mind.Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer
At the time of writing, Ninjas in Pyjamas have a 2-2 record in the group, and tomorrow they face a decisive match, which will be the team's last chance to reach the playoffs.
Ninjas in Pyjamas have been going through a challenging period, where a drop in ranking forced them to participate in open qualifiers. Snappi, who joined the project at the beginning of the year, set out to bring NiP back to the elite of global CS. Successful performances at the PGL Astana Closed Qualifier and Fragadelphia have been important milestones in this journey.
