Smooya on s1mple: “He could have dominated if he hadn’t stopped playing”

Owen Smooya Butterfield sparked controversy with his comments to HLTV about s1mple, a legendary player known for his dominance in the game.

Smooya's criticism stems from s1mple's decision to withdraw from competitive play in the early months of CS 2, the new version of Counter-Strike.

CS 2 is a new game, it has completely new mechanics, everything is new. s1mple refused to play in the first few months, left the team and did not play at all. He rides FPL, where he runs and trolls with Zeus. Is not cool. Damn, s1mple could have dominated if he hadn't stopped playing. He could outdo his CS:GO self. Now I'm better than him in CS 2. I was trash in Global Offensive if you compare me to him.

These remarks divided the esports community. Some support Smooya's competitive spirit by emphasizing the importance of adapting to a new environment. Others have criticized his harsh tone, questioning his right to make such statements given his own shortcomings in CS2.

s1mple has not yet responded to Smooya's comments.
