FURIA is on the verge of finalizing its Counter-Strike 2 roster. After Kayke "kye" Bertolucci was benched, the organization is in advanced negotiations with Felipe 'skullz' Medeiros from Team Liquid.
According to Dust2 Brasil, the parties have been discussing details for several days, including the buyout amount and other contract terms. Skullz and the interested organizations have shown mutual interest in the deal, although it is not yet finalized. FURIA's interest in skullz is not entirely new. About two weeks ago, commentator Chad "SPUNJ" Burchill mentioned rumors that the team wanted to sign this player. Skullz joined Liquid in December 2023 for around $600,000. The amount FURIA will pay for his transfer is unknown.
During his time with Liquid, skullz achieved a 6.0 rating. Despite high expectations, Liquid, considered serious contenders, did not live up to the hype and failed to qualify for the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen. Besides skullz, captain Casper "cadiaN" Møller is also likely to leave the team.
Another question for FURIA is the team's leadership. Currently, assistant coach sidde is the main candidate to replace guerri, who will take on a managerial position in the second half of the year.
