sdy will miss PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR due to illness

Today, the Ukrainian organization Monte announced on their social media that the team's captain, Viktor sdy Orudzhev, will miss the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR due to health reasons.

The announcement was made by the team's coach, Sergey lmbt Bezhanov. He released a statement in video format where he discussed the situation and announced who will replace the captain at the most important championship of the year.

Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev will miss the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR B due to health issues, and he will be replaced by a young player from Monte's academy roster, the British player Jack Gizmy Spreckelsen.

lmbt's message went as follows:

Good day, dear fans, dear Ukrainians! Times such as these bring decisions and challenges that have always tested life and continue to do so. Unfortunately, Vitya has fallen very ill, and, regrettably, he will not be able to play on the first day of the tournament at the very least. Therefore, we will be playing with a substitute, Gizmy, who has previously played in the last RMR. So, he has experience. He is a player from our academy. Vitya will return as soon as he is able to play matches. And we greatly appreciate your support, your faith in us. Glory to Ukraine! Support us!

In turn, sdy also commented on this event on his Telegram channel:

Unfortunately, things have turned out as they have. In turn, I can say that I am fighting this illness to the fullest, hoping for a speedy recovery and the chance to play in the RMR. For us, the first major in CS2 is very important, as it is for any team. Of course, it's difficult to accept and to deal with, but there are no other options. I am confident in my guys and their strength, believe in them too.

Monte's first match at the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR B will take place on February 19th against the team ECSTATIC. The tournament will last until February 22nd, with a total of 4 slots at the major up for grabs. Well, all that's left for Monte's fans is to believe in their favorite team.
