Eight months ago, after a dispute in the team speak during a show tournament between Oleksandr s1mple Kostyliev and Vladimir Woro2k Vorotnyuk, a heated argument took place on Twitter. Monte's sniper promised to come after s1mple and destroy him. Today, Monte decisively defeated NAVI at the BLAST.tv Major Paris 2023.
How did the snipers, who had a falling out in the past, perform?
It should be noted that s1mple played 27% below his usual performance, with a rating of only 4.9. electroNic and Perfecto tried to steer the game, but they couldn't achieve the desired victory on any map.
Woro2k didn't sit back in safe positions; instead, he took an initiative, resulting in 13 entries, 36 kills overall, and a rating of 7.1. In the end, Velentnyuk outperformed his rival in almost all aspects, but in direct duels, s1mple came out slightly ahead, winning 7 out of 12 duels against Woro2k.
The BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 is taking place from May 8 to May 21. The teams are competing for a prize pool of $1.25 million. The tournament winner will also receive slots for IEM Cologne 2023 and the BLAST Premier: World Final 2023. You can track the schedule and results of the Major here.
