Today in his Telegram channel Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyljev shared a video in which a youtube blogger rated s1mple's game on FACEIT. There was nothing wrong with the video itself, but the turnovers started after he posted the voicemail.
In the voicemail s1mple said that the video amused him, but he very often gave the computer to a friend or acquaintance. And it just so happened that someone was playing on his computer from the guys to play Faceit together.
Situation Details
This immediately sparked a lot of discussion because Faceit's rules prohibit Faceit from transferring accounts to anyone and users on Twitter wrote various messages mentioning Faceit support to look into this.
After all, many players have faced blocking for this kind of behavior and many in the community, believe that there should be no exception for s1mple and he should be punished.
Current NAVI player Justinas "jL" Lekavičius decided to joke about this situation and wrote in the comments of one of the posts:
I also give my twin brother a PC when I have negative KD in tournaments.
The community reaction to this was positive and everyone responded to it with humor and also started joking about s1mple's game in BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024 where he played for Falcons as a substitute, Sasha himself finished the game with 38-49 stats.
After that the situation more or less calmed down and the community awaited Faceit's actions while s1mple went about his business, but s1mple decided to record another voiceover in which he said:
Tell the English-speaking f*ols that it was just me stepping away and someone could have played a round instead of me, that kind of thing. The account itself was not transferred to another computer, it was all on my computer. And yes to all the m*rons who are talking shit. I brought my computer from Poland about a month ago, moved it to Barcelona. Now I'm in Warsaw and the computer is still there
Reaction from the community is divided, some believe Faceit should punish him for this. The opinion of others is that, he won't get anything because it's s1mple.
Situation of s1mple
Sam s1mple has been on the bench at NAVI for 5 months now. His last official game was played in March for Falcons, where he appeared as a substitute for one tournament. Which the team failed, losing in the first match.
So far there is no information about s1mple's return, but the community is looking forward to it. Also, during his time on the bench, he managed to open his school PlayLikeS1mple, which eventually closed and did not meet expectations.
