s1mple: "FACEIT is a shitty platform."

Today, during his live stream on the Twitch platform, Ukrainian sniper from Natus Vincere team, Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev, expressed his opinion about the main competitive platform in CS:GO - Faceit.

s1mple:

Every time I play on FACEIT, I have a teammate with a thousand ELO. Tell me, how is that possible? I just don't understand this system at all. As I see it, FACEIT is a shitty platform. When you queue up alone, you always end up with a stack of five people. It's a piece of shit, not a system.

Despite this, s1mple continues to play on the platform, and in the past week, he has played 22 matches. By the way, out of those, he lost 15 matches. His win rate for the last 20 matches is 20%. However, his overall win rate is 53%.

Currently, Sasha (s1mple) has 4057 ELO, which is ranked as top 2,217 in Europe and also top 152 in Ukraine.

It is worth mentioning that recently, s1mple played in a party with the former captain of the team, Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov, as well as with Evgeny "Aunkere" Karyat.

These are the exact players who didn't say a word about the full-scale war between russia and Ukraine.

What do players usually complain about on the platform?

If we start talking about how difficult it is to play on Faceit, regardless of whether you have a paid subscription or the free version of the platform, such a discussion can last for hours. It has become a common perception that playing on Faceit is very challenging, not because of a lack of personal skill, but due to issues within the platform itself.

The main complaints from players are:

  1. Constant boosters on new accounts.
  2. Mismatched lobby matchmaking. (If you have 2000 ELO, you can easily encounter a player with 4000 ELO and a newbie with 1500 ELO because the average Elo is more or less balanced.)
  3. When queuing solo, you can be matched against a team or a stack of friends, and most of your teammates will also be solo players.
  4. Significant Elo inflation.
  5. Inaccurate functioning of the "map selection" feature when you have a premium account.

The next championship in which Natus Vincere will participate is BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2023. The competition will take place from July 13th to 23rd in Copenhagen, Denmark. Teams will compete for a prize pool of $177.5 thousand and six slots for BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2023. You can track the schedule and results of the tournament here.
