s1mple considers B1ad3 one of the legendary coaches in Counter-Strike

Professional CS2 player Alexander s1mple Kostylev discussed the work of Andrey B1ad3 Gorodensky as a coach. The Ukrainian esports athlete shared his opinion in an interview on Duncan Thorin Shields' YouTube channel.

Kostylev noted that Gorodensky played an important role in the development of many successful esports athletes in Eastern Europe.

I think he's a genius in Counter-Strike. He spends an incredible amount of time constantly evolving and shaping his own meta. Even now, in the CS community, many people don't understand that it was B1ad3 who nurtured players like me, electroNic, and flamie. All this happened in FlipSid3 and dAT Team.Back then, Fnatic already had star players capable of taking rounds on their own. Meanwhile, B1ad3 was helping us develop. He understood how to achieve good team interaction, which was, for example, present in Astralis. That's why I consider him one of the legendary coaches in CS, if not the most legendary.

s1mple said he asked B1ad3 to help the NAVI CS squad, even when Gorodensky was the club's sports director.

In the past, B1ad3 was the sports director of NAVI - then the team still had Zeus and Kane. I remember suggesting he stay at the boot camp with the squad and share his ideas. He wasn't part of the team, but there he could have given advice to, for example, Edward and flamie. Even then, B1ad3 watched all the matches.

He added that thanks to B1ad3, the NAVI lineup reached a new professional level.

Becoming the coach of NAVI, B1ad3 said it would take us three months to build the system. After three months, we started winning, working in this system, and adopting some things from other teams, especially Astralis. It was this team that first showed everyone the importance of waking up early, having breakfast together with the whole team, and even going to the gym with a teammate - not just for health, but to have the opportunity to discuss something with them. This is what B1ad3 tried to implement in our team and, I think, succeeded in doing. He even personally selected a psychologist and analyst so that we would be comfortable working with them. He understood that these people could make the team stronger.

B1ad3 has been acting as the coach of NAVI since September 2019. Under his leadership, the team has won many major tournaments, including the first and only major for the organization in CS - PGL Major Stockholm 2021.
