Russian players were disqualified from the RMR qualification for PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 due to cheats

The team EC Kostroma was banned from participating in the open European qualifiers for PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 in CS2. This information was shared by Sangal Esports member Ilya Ganginho Chernichenko, citing the qualification organizers.

In the message from the administrators, it is noted that after an investigation, the EC Kostroma team was disqualified. Although no official statement from the organizers has been received, Ganginho speculated that the EC Kostroma participants might have used radar-hack.

Lausanne SE player xReal also confirmed the team's disqualification, claiming that they were excluded for using cheats. The unfair play of EC Kostroma was also noticed by the coach of Passion UA, Mikhail Kane Blagin. His team was eliminated from the qualifiers after losing specifically to EC Kostroma.

The EC Kostroma roster includes four Russian players and a Latvian. The team reached the fifth round of the first open qualifier, where they were defeated by Sangal. Presumably, a player under the nickname m1f was noticed violating rules, leading to his ban on the Challengermode platform.

The first open qualifiers for RMR to PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 for Europe took place from January 8 to 9. As a result of the matches, four quotas for the closed qualification were obtained by ex-ThunderFlashKOIFnatic, and Entropiq. More about this can be read in the article.
