GamerLegion's CS:GO IGL, Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek, is reportedly considering a move to another team. This information was shared by Dexerto, citing their own sources.
According to unconfirmed reports, MOUZ has shown a strong interest in siuhy. Representatives from both sides are in the final stages of negotiations and an announcement about the transfer could be made in the near future. As of the time of publication, neither party has officially confirmed the information regarding the potential transfer.
Why such interest in siuhy?
This transfer would mean the return of siuhy to MOUZ, as he was previously part of the organization's academy roster from June 2021 to August 2022. Last summer, he made the move to GamerLegion, where he continued to solidify his reputation as one of the most promising captains in Counter-Strike.
siuhy's value sharply increased last month after GamerLegion reached the finals of the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023. Immediately, rumors linking the Polish esports player to G2 Esports began to surface. However, siuhy is likely to return to MOUZ, where he will reunite with his former teammates from the MOUZ NXT, John "JDC" de Castro, Adam "torzsi" Torjás, and Dorian "xertioN" Berman.
Who will siuhy replace?
According to the source, the Polish IGL will take the place of Christopher "dexter" Nong, putting an end to the Australian's 30-month tenure in the team. After leaving MOUZ, it is unlikely that Nong will return to any clubs in his home country. dexter has a decent fan base and significant experience on the Tier-1 scene, making him an attractive candidate for many teams in Europe and North America.
The captain change is possible due to the disappointing first half of 2023 for MOUZ, where their second-place finish at IEM Dallas 2023 was the only notable highlight. After reaching the semifinals of the IEM Rio Major last year, the team finished last at the Paris Major. The team also exited early in IEM Katowice 2023 and IEM Rio 2023.
The future of GamerLegion
The departure of siuhy casts doubt on GamerLegion's plans to build on their success at the last Major in CS:GO history. Earlier, the team's manager, Julian "morxzas" Mikulski, stated that he hoped the organization would be able to retain the entire roster despite interest from several top teams in their players.
If we want to stay in tier one, we need to keep the team together, and I feel we have a great chance of doing that.
MOUZ's last tournament before the summer break was the Elisa Invitational Spring 2023, where the team finished in 3rd-4th place after losing to Apeks in the semifinals. The team, led by dexter, earned $1.5k in prize money.
