Rumors: Astralis will remove gla1ve and take Staehr instead

Today it is rumored that the Astralis captain Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander will leave the team soon. The team is already finalizing the search for a worthy candidate to replace the Dane.

It is reported that in place of the legendary gla1ve will go Victor "Staehr" Ster of Sprout. Staehr's contract with Sprout expires in early 2024, but Astralis seemingly were able to negotiate a temporary buyout soon.

What's going to happen with Astralis?

According to sources: gla1ve will be put up for transfer due to unsatisfactory results. And the place of the captain will be taken by team lurker Benjamin "blameF" Bremer.

After all, blameF has previously had experience canting in Complexity Gaming, and also staked on the map Mirage for Astralis.

Astralis continues to implement a major realignment within its CS:GO division. Last Wednesday, the organization officially announced that it had severed its ties with Kasper Hvidt, sports director, and Nikolai "HUNDEN" Petersen, chief analyst. The reason for this was the results, which did not meet expectations and did not meet the ambitions of the club.

At this point, there is no clarity on the completion of the changes at Astralis. Thursday is the deadline to submit a lineup for the team's first appearance in the BLAST Premier Fall Groups fall season. After that point, further changes will be considered by the organizers and, if approved, will result in Astralis taking a lower position on the event roster.

Player Comparison

But it's really strange to remove from the roster a player who has done so much for the team, namely 4 major wins, 3 of which were won in a row.

But if you look at the stats, you can see that the young rifler from Sprout, of course, excels in the stats. But here are the opponents of the players are different. Sprout continue to play on the dash-2/1.5 stage, when Astralis most often plays against dash-1 tops.

By the way, a little earlier Astralis sniper Nikolai "dev1ce" Ridz gave his opinion on Staehr:

I think Staehr is one of the best talents we've had in Denmark in five years. In my opinion, he has really good intuition and is really savvy, as well as good at communication. I can understand why Astralis is after him. We don't know much about him as a player, so it's hard for me to say anything!

Famous Belarusian analyst Konstantin "leniniw" Sivko has already reacted to this news.

There's no reason for Astralis to kick the captain who won 4 majors with rating 1 for...Staehr's sake, right? Even after they kicked the sport.diar (probably under pressure from players).Gla1ve found something and I damn well wonder what it is. After all, he hasn't played on another team since he came to Astralis, and now he has. He's rated 1 and for a cap player that's ok. I don't think he's said his piece yet.

Well, or he really got kicked.

The supposed Astralis lineup will look like this:

  • Andreas "Xyp9x" Hoyslet
  • Benjamin "blameF" Bremer (captain)
  • Nikolai "dev1ce" Ridz
  • Christian "Buzz" Andersen
  • Alexander "Altekz" Givskov
  • Victor "Staehr" Steer
  • Peter "casle" Toftbo Ardenskiöld (coach)
