Eagle-eyed Counter-Strike fans have noticed some interesting changes to the game's code following the Arms Race update. These changes hint that Valve is potentially working on a new operation, and it could include cutscenes instead of comics.
The update resulted in the removal of several lines and features related to the "Comic Book" that was introduced in the Gemini campaign of Operation Wildfire. In addition, subtitle (CC) related code has been added, implemented using the Red-Black Tree data structure. This suggests that Valve may ditch the comics with subtitles and instead introduce full cutscenes similar to those found in other games.
While this is just speculation at this point, the changes to the code will certainly raise eyebrows. With Operation Riptide ending in February 2024, fans are eagerly awaiting news of the next major content update for CS2. The possibility of cutscenes appearing instead of comics adds another interesting aspect to the upcoming operation.
Valve always knows how to surprise its players. We'll wait for the announcement of the new operation to find out what surprises they have in store for us!
