Gentle Mates is preparing to expand its presence in esports by entering the Counter-Strike 2 discipline. According to Sheep Esports, Gentle Mates have reached a verbal agreement to sign the core roster of Iberian Soul and sniper Antonio "Martinez" Martinez, who previously played for 9z.
This will be the organization's third attempt to enter CS2; previously, Gentle Mates tried to sign the 3DMAX roster, but the deal fell through. Now, they have set their sights on the Spanish core, which has been club-less for some time following KOI's exit from the discipline. The new team is expected to include:
Former sniper Renato "stadodo" Gonçalves, who played alongside them in recent months, will not be part of this project and has already left the team.
Iberian Soul's 2025 Results
Although the future Gentle Mates roster hasn't achieved significant success at the top level, they are ranked 38th in the world VRS rankings. The team's best results in 2025 include:

Despite regular tournament participation, the team has not been able to qualify for any S-Tier events, often stopping at the qualification stage.

Gentle Mates (M8) is a project launched in 2023 by three iconic French streamers and former pro players. Gotaga and Brawks were once at the forefront of Team Vitality and the professional Call of Duty scene, while Squeezie has become one of France's most popular YouTubers, having started his career with CoD content as well.
