Rostermania in CS2 has begun: which teams urgently need replacements

Despite PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 for CS2 being in full swing, there are already clubs that are in dire need of changes to their rosters. In this article, Bo3.gg will tell you about five such teams.

Team Falcons

"Million-dollar ambitions, dollar results." This phrase perfectly characterizes what's happening around Falcons. Their strategy in forming the roster remains a mystery. It seems as if they followed the tactic of "the more expensive, the better," but the team has zero results. Or rather, all their results are negative.

They tried to play with BOROS - it didn’t work, with s1mple - it didn’t work, and now they’ve also dragged dupreeh into it. However, does this roster really need dupreeh? Hardly. The Dane is already quite old by esports standards, and his career is on the decline. Such a transfer is unlikely to improve their situation. If there is a positive effect, it won't last long.

Falcons don't need experience, they need firepower. They should focus on some young sharpshooter who will come in and start carrying these old folks to the top of the CS2 professional scene. And since the roster has a Scandinavian core, nilo from Metizport would be a perfect fit for them. The Swede, who went through the Ninjas in Pyjamas academy, is ready to conquer the Tier-1 scene, and if his home organization doesn't need him, then for Falcons, he's an excellent option.

Club of High Ambitions

The next three clubs have championship ambitions, but with their current rosters, achieving them seems unlikely. Let's break down why. Let's start with Cloud9. The North American organization has accustomed us to constant roster changes in CS2, so why not make them again?

C9 clearly lacks a proficient AWP, and their advancement to the playoffs of PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 can be considered a real miracle. The coolest development would be the transfer of m0NESY. However, they need to decide whom to kick out — Hobbit or Ax1Le. Our choice falls on Hobbit. The team has enough experience without him, and his age works against him. So let's replace Hobbit with m0NESY and start winning trophies.

Next on our list is G2 Esports. Criticism of the management's decision to replace jks with nexa has been widespread, and we'll do it again. Enough time has passed for nexa to move away completely from the IGL role and focus entirely on shooting, but there are still no results.

Players and management should understand that a roster of friends doesn't always lead to good results. Yes, even with nexa on the roster, G2 can regularly make it to tournament playoffs, but there have been no trophies. nexa needs to be replaced.

Natus Vincere looks interesting, but they constantly lack a fifth player. If there are no questions about Aleksib's statistics, as he is the IGL, then iM is just a failure. Online, he plays well and confidently, but he's simply absent on LAN, and the team suffers because of it.

It's time for changes, and the simplest solution would be to bring back s1mple. Perhaps they will somehow combine the sniper position with w0nderful depending on the map, or s1mple will fully concentrate on the rifle position. Then the team will have enough firepower, and they will start competing for the top spots.

Team Liquid

Closing our list is the main hope and disappointment of the American CS2 scene. Liquid failed to qualify for the Major, as well as for several other tournaments. In the first three months of 2024, a team of fantastic players managed to qualify only for IEM Dallas 2024. This is a catastrophe.

We can't say that all of the team's problems stem from one player, but perhaps if he's replaced, things will turn around. It makes sense to kick skullz and then transfer KSCERATO. Yes, you might say that Brazil's best rifler recently turned down Liquid, but who knows what might happen. KSCERATO needs to understand that sometimes in life, you have to step out of your comfort zone to achieve incredible results, or he'll remain one of the best players who haven't won major tournaments.

Please note that the above is only our opinion and conjecture. Don't take this information as something definitive. All major reshuffles will start immediately after the end of PGL Major Copenhagen 2024. It won't be long now.
