Rocket's coach, Alexander "Psycho" Zlobin, commented on the news of his communication with the team during the closed qualifiers for the American RMR for the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 in CS2. The team's mentor addressed the community on his personal page on X (Twitter).
Psycho also did not ignore the fact that one of Rocket's participants was banned on FACEIT for using cheats. According to him, he is against cheating in any form and condemned the actions of the esports player.
I want to tell this story from my perspective:
I admit that I have been to several matches in closed qualifier for the RMR in voice chat with the team until I was notified that this is not by the rules. Ready to be punished by the rules for that and I apologize to all the teams we’ve been playing against.
I was most shocked, angry and upset when I saw the news about the ban of the player "EMIYA" in our team for cheats on Faceit. I oppose cheating in any form and condemn his act. I could never have thought that he cheated. It was unexpected for me as well as for everyone else in the team.
After this news, we do not deserve to participate in the RMR - it is not fair to other teams. That’s why we (the remaining players of Rocket) are withdrawing from the tournament.
I want to add at the end that we trained and prepared a lot as a team and individually. I’m sorry for the rest of the guys on the team that they can not show themselves at the LAN. Unfortunately, there is no other way in this situation.
On February 20, Damian "EMIYA" Bulvar from Rocket was banned on the FACEIT platform for using cheats. Then there was information that the team also violated Valve's rules during the closed qualifiers for the American RMR tournament to the major by communicating with the coach during the games. This was confirmed by several Rocket participants. The organizers of the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 and the qualifiers have not commented on this situation yet.
PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024: American RMR will take place from March 1 to 4 in Mexico. 16 teams will compete for five slots at the major. How the championship organizers will decide to use the free slot is currently unknown.
