In a recent interview r1nkle shared insights about his new chapter with Ninjas in Pyjamas and his expectations for the upcoming ESL Pro League Season 19, which starts tomorrow.
Reflecting on his time with B8, r1nkle expressed that despite close calls at RMR events, the team's lack of Tier-1 experience and a bit of bad luck prevented them from advancing to the next level. "We often faced Tier-2 and Tier-3 teams, which doesn't equate to the experience gained from competing against top-tier opponents," he explained.
When asked about his move to NIP, r1nkle revealed that he had received several offers from other teams but chose NIP for its strong fit with his aggressive play style and the promise of being himself rather than adapting to a predefined role. "I had about five offers from Tier-2 teams, but NIP stood out, and after a few interviews, I was convinced it was the right choice," he said.
The transition to NIP wasn't just about the team's potential but also personal growth, as r1nkle had to adapt to communicating in English, a challenge he has embraced. "Initially, my head would ache after training days from speaking English, but I've improved significantly," r1nkle shared.
Despite the recent setback with teammate REZ falling ill and missing the EPL, r1nkle remains optimistic about their chances. "We've had to rely more on individual plays due to limited practice time with our substitute, xKacpersky, but the team morale is high, and we're enjoying playing together," he stated.
As NIP heads into the ESL Pro League, there are no set expectations, just a focus on playing their best and taking it one match at a time. "We don't have specific goals for the tournament, but we aim to go as far as we can," r1nkle concluded, setting the stage for what promises to be an intriguing campaign for the new-look NIP squad.
