On October 4, 2023, the last major CS:GO tournament begins - BLAST Premier: Fall European Showdown 2023. That means it's time to make predictions for future matches.
This time we will take a look at the Cloud9 vs Movistar Riders matchup.
Team Form
Since the signing of the new squad, Cloud9 have never faced Movistar Riders before, which means this will be their first meeting in an official tournament.
But, here if you compare the in-game stats of the teams, the stats are as equal as possible. There is no statistic that is 3% higher for one team or the other.
Map Pool
Before we get to the expected map pool for the match, it's worth noting that the Nuke and Mirage maps for Cloud9 and Movistar Riders are considered permobanams respectively.
Cloud9 have a big advantage over their opponent on Inferno, having previously beaten Team Liquid, Eternal Fire and 1win on this map.
Based on this we can conclude that these two maps will be played in the match.
The third map will be Overpass, as it is here they feel more or less comfortable.
Bottom line
Unless something extraordinary happens, Cloud9 should win this game 2-0. As they are a team of a bigger caliber than Movistar Riders.
And even though Cloud9 completely failed at ESL Pro League Season 18, they lost their last three matches in this tournament:
- Against Complexity 0:2
- Opposed to Team Liquid 1:2
- Opposed to Eternal Fire 0:2
But Movistar Riders did much better in the EPL, namely they made the playoffs, where they lost their last match in the quarterfinals. In their last match they lost to ENCE with a score of 0:2.
The championship bracket is as follows:
