Today, the organizers of the first-ever major in Counter-Strike 2 PGL announced that the number of teams registered for the fourth qualifier can now exceed 1024 teams. This was announced by the organizers on their Challengermode page.
The fourth open qualifier for the European region will start tomorrow at 17:00. Already, 1024 teams have registered, with a total of 2048 slots available.

Previously, due to a lack of slots, BLEED Esports missed the third qualifiers. Read more about it here. For the European region, this qualifier will be the last chance for teams to get into the RMR.
The day before yesterday, the number of registered teams exceeded 1024, but the system was not ready for this, and the organizers did not increase the number of slots. For the third qualifiers, 1619 rosters registered for 1024 available slots, leaving 595 teams unable to play in the qualifiers.
Also, PGL has introduced a couple of new changes that will be effective in the last fourth qualification:
- An additional game day has been added (now there are 3, instead of 2)
- The bracket will be divided into 2 groups. The first group plays on the 14th, the second on the 15th. On Tuesday, everyone plays their second game day.
- Check-in can now be done within two hours.
The platform's problems remain at the same level, even though Acros-Anticheat has started banning more cheaters. However, in three qualifiers, Acros consistently banned one team from Russia for using prohibited software.
Some teams will also finish playing the third qualifier today. Of all the contenders, only four will advance to the closed qualifier. The main favorites at the moment are B8 Esports, OG, ECSTATIC, and Team Space.
