PGL took decisive action, disqualifying the Swedish team QuackQuack from the open qualifiers for the Counter-Strike 2 major in Copenhagen for using cheats.
This decision altered the course of the tournament, giving a chance to teams like Lazer Cats, who were previously defeated by the now-disqualified supresse, and Alliance, who lost to QuackQuack, to compete for a spot in the 1/16 finals against Betera. Such actions are a continuation of PGL's fight against unfair play, demonstrating the strictness of the rules and the importance of fairness in esports.
The disqualified team became the third to lose the right to participate in the open qualifiers for this major. Previously, bans were received by EC Kostroma, V1dar, and supresse.
The next stage of PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European Qualifier will feature the top four teams. In the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European Open Qualifier 1, these spots were claimed by ex-ThunderFlash, KOI, fnatic and Entropiq.
