Salary reduction motivated zonic to leave Vitality – the club wanted to pay the coach 60-70% less

Falcons coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen shed light on what led to his departure from his previous organization. According to him, Vitality wanted to significantly cut his salary after the victory at the Paris major.

In an interview with Thorin, the former Vitality mentor mentioned that the club's management wanted a reduction of 60-70%, which was in no way acceptable to zonic.

I knew there were [financial] problems, and I told my agent I was ready to cut my salary by 20%, despite the victory at the major. That was the only task I was given.

The Dane also added that he holds no grudge against Vitality, but he considered that offer disrespectful, especially considering that there had already been two pay cuts before – such measures ultimately allowed the signing of Lotan “Spinx” Giladi and sports psychologist Lars Robl. After the last incident, the organization eventually allowed zonic to consider offers from outside.

It should be noted that zonic is currently the mentor of Falcons, but besides them, Sørensen had offers from 4-5 other teams. It is worth noting that the roster of the Saudi club is still in the process of being formed – so far, it includes only Mohammad “BOROS” Malhas.
