Passion UA reached the playoffs of the RES Regional Series 6 Europe, defeating Nemiga, the first time the team won with the new lineup. Before that, they lost to them twice at the RES European Series 3 and RES European Series 6.
RES Regional Series 6 takes place from July 15 to 22, with a prize pool of $100,000. Passion UA has already participated in the tournament of this series, where their best result was 3-4th place. This time, they have an opportunity to improve their result and win the tournament.
Passion UA played in Group B alongside BLEED, Aurora Young Blud, and Nemiga. In the opening match, they lost to Nemiga with a score of 2-1, and got to the elimination match where they managed to defeat Aurora Young Blud with a score of 2-0 and advance to the last match of the group stage, where they met Nemiga again in the elimination match.
The match was held in BO3 format, where the first map was Ancient, which was chosen by Nemiga. The map ended with a score of 13-9, with Passion UA winning. On the first map, Nikita “jackasmo” Skyba became the best player, finishing the map with the statistics
22-10 K-D. The second map was Mirage, where Nemiga dominated the first half and finished the half with a score of 3-9. In the second half, Passion UA managed to make an incredible comeback and won this map. Taking 10 rounds for defense, the team's sniper Dmytro “jambo” Semera played a big role in this, finishing the map with 21-15 K-D statistics.
In addition to Passion UA, Sangal, B8, NIP, BLEED, and Zero Tenacity made it to the playoffs of the tournament. Passion UA has 3 weeks left to gain a foothold in the top of the Valve rankings and get to the RMR closed qualifiers. By reaching the playoffs, they can earn money and rise in the rankings, which is an important part of the game. The team also has a chance to qualify for the LAN tournament RES Regional Champions, thanks to points from the organizer.
