PARIVISION disqualified from RMR Shanghai Major due to rules violations

A recent scandal shook the world of cybersport - during the live broadcast of the closed qualifying tournament for the Shanghai Major (EU RMR) at the end of the match PARIVISION was seen banned by Valve - Ivan Kochugov (F_1N). This event caused a lot of discussion, because the team violated the rules of the tournament.

This is important because in high stakes cyber sports, such rule violations can undermine the credibility of the organization and the players. Teams that violate the established norms should realize that imminent punishment will follow. The community supports strict measures to ensure fairness and equality for all participants.

PARIVISION's violations

According to tournament rules, TeamSpeak and the players' room should not have unauthorized people, including coaches and other staff, in TeamSpeak. However, in the case of PARIVISION, there were coaches and operators present, especially the coach Ivan Kochugov, who has been banned for life at all majors by Valve. This fact could not go unnoticed and led to serious consequences for the team.

Disqualification and new matches

After a thorough investigation and discussion with Valve, a decision was made - PARIVISION's right to participate in the current Major cycle is canceled and the team is disqualified from RMR and any other part of the Major. To resolve the issue of PARIVISION's replacement at the upcoming EU RMR, it was decided to hold an additional BO3 cycle between three teams with 2-3 records in the A EU Closed Qualifier.

The matches will be played as follows:

  • Match 1: KOI (seeded 2) vs. Monte (seeded 3) - BO3
  • Match 2: winner of match 1 vs. Bleed (seed 1) - BO3

The date of these matches is August 27

Conclusion - the importance of following the rules

This case highlights how important it is to strictly follow the rules at all stages of the tournament. Valve's prohibitions are a prioritized set of rules for all official events and any attempt to circumvent them will result in serious consequences. PARIVISION's disqualification will serve as a reminder to all teams that fair play is the foundation of cybersports and any violations will be dealt with harshly.
