paiN took the last place at IEM Cologne 2024

In the last match of the IEM Cologne 2024 Play-in, in which two Brazilian teams paiN and MIBR played, paiN were stronger. Thanks to that they won and qualified for IEM Cologne 2024.

Match Details

The first map was Mirage, the choice of paiN, who had a good first half, finishing 7-5, and after winning the second pistol round they secured the win. MIBR tried to get back into the game but were unable to do so and lost the map with a score of 13-10.

The second map was Anubis where MIBR sensationally won the first half 10-2, securing a comfortable lead for themselves. Despite losing the pistol round, they took a three round series and brought the game to an end, winning 13-4.

The last was Vertigo, where MIBR lost to paiN 13-0 a week ago. Despite losing the pistol round, paiN rallied and ended the half in their favor with a score of 9-3. After winning the second pistol round, they brought the game to the end and won with a resounding score of 13-3, thus becoming the last team to qualify for IEM Cologne.

Best Player

The title of the best player of the match was shared by two players from different teams, Raphael "exit" Lacerda and Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt, who finished the game with an equal rating of 6.8, which is rare.

Next match

Thanks to the victory, paiN qualified for the main stage, which starts today, their opponent will be NAVI. In turn, MIBR left the tournament one step before the main stage and earned $4,500 for doing so.
